How to use this document
This web-based document seeks to provide users with accessible information and resources on Engaging with the International Human Rights Machinery. You will also find a PDF version of the document and accompanying PowerPoint presentation available to download.
How to Navigate the Web-based Document
- The document is divided into separate chapters, which you can browse through in order or depending on your areas of interest.
- To navigate between sections, use the ‘Previous’ and ‘Next’ section links located at the top and bottom of every page. You can also use the Table of Contents sidebar to navigate between sections.
- The text in the document is supplemented by additional resources, which are accessible by clicking on the accompanying link. This opens a new pop-up window, so that you are able to maintain your original place in the Practical Guide.
- In each of the principal sections (UN Treaty Bodies and UN Special Procedures), you will find the following:
- Case studies illustrating best practices;
- Specific suggestions for practitioners (look for ! symbol);
- Practitioner checklists (look for √ symbol);
- Useful links to websites and/or documents with additional information.
- Answers to Frequently Asked Questions are also available.
- Tip: You can print, save or email all documents found within the Guide and use them for information or training purposes. Look for the relevant icon.
